Exploring Painting   

 

Spring 2024 Art Classes for All Ages:

Registration starts January 8


Gloria Seitz, a certified K-12 art teacher, will be teaching classes on the topic of Exploring Painting. In this seven week class, students will be learning about painting tools, tempera and color mixing, watercolors and watercolor techniques, .  and acrylic painting on canvas.  CLASSES WILL BEGIN ON THE WEEK OF February 27,28, and 29  AND END THE WEEK OF April 23, 24, 25.  Two weeks  will be taken off for Sprin Break (March 12 -21) .  The Art Festival will tentatively be held the evening of Friday, April 26. 

CLASS INFORMATION: Please do not let your child attend class if they are not feeling well. I will do my best to help them make up the classes missed.  Each family needs to individually decide their preference on mask wearing. Check the supplies list to purchase a few items needed each week. A backpack or tote bag is helpful to bring supplies to class. Each student should have their own bag. Students may want to dress down a bit on art day. 

Tuesday classes will meet at Crossroads Church, 1650 N. Oak Dr. in Plymouth, IN. Ages 6-10 will meet at 3:30-4:30 p.m. Ages 9-13 will meet at 4:45-5:45. Older students and adults are free to attend the 9-13 class, realizing there will be younger students.  Classes will not meet Tuesdays, March 12 and 19.

Wednesday classes will meet at Trinity Evangelical free Church, 61770 Miami Rd. South Bend. Ages 6-10 will meet at 10:30-11:30.  Ages 9-13 will meet from 11:45 -12:45 p.m. and 7th -adult meet from 1-2 p.m. Class will not meet Wednesdays, March 13 and 20.

Thursday classes will meet at Redeemer Missionary Church (still waiting for an ok from the church), 19671 Cleveland Rd. in South Bend.  Ages 6-10  will meet at 11:45-12:45. Ages 9-13 will meet from 1-2 p.m.  7th grade-adult will be meeting from 2:15-3:15 p.m.  Class will not meet Thursdays, March 14 and 21.

 The cost for the seven week classes is $95 for the first child and $5 LESS  for each additional child. You will save $5 on the total cost if you send in payment by Monday, February 12.  Paying by Paypal or credit card will be available with no discounts. Cost includes supplies (except sketch book, erasers, pencil, rulers, canvas, and folder:  These you will need to purchase), room rental, and Art Festival. 

The Art Festival will be held on the evening of Friday, April 26 at Community Gospel Church in Breman.  Please save the date on your calendar! Help will be needed with setup that afternoon.

Three steps for registering:

  1. Call or text Gloria at 574-315-1858 or email her at newcreationsartclasses@gmail.com to reserve your spot in a class.
  2. Register online here. If you plan to pay by check, please ALSO print out a registration form to mail.
  3. Pay online using Paypal, OR mail your printed out registration form (accessed under the signup button)with payment to Gloria Seitz, P.O. Box 222, Plymouth, IN 46563.  Classes do fill up, so be sure to get your registration in early.  If you pay with check or money order by August 28 , you will save 5$ on the total cost. Payment needs to be made one week before the first class (September 5) unless arranged with Gloria.
